Uncle Junior bids to add to his La Touche Cup success at Punchestown last month when heading a four-strong Irish assault in a four and a half mile cross-country event in France this afternoon.

The Anjou Challenge at Le Lion-d’Angers in north-west France was won two years ago by Another Jewel, and the Denis Murphy-trained gelding is back to try again under champion jockey Davy Russell.

The Irish quartet is completed by veteran A New Story, fourth in this marathon 12 months ago, and the Paul Carberry-ridden Saddlers Storm.
