Having filled the runner-up spot five times in her previous 12 starts, Jumping Susie deservedly made the breakthrough in the Kilmeaden Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Bought for E23,000 at the Goffs Land Rover Sale in 2021, the John McConnell-trained six-year-old was sent off a 13/2 chance in the colours of the 119 Partnership.

Settled in second by Ben Harvey, the Walk In The Park bay improved to lead before five out but was pressed by Ashlia Dancer from the third last.

Pushed along before the next, the 102 rated victor ultimately stayed on best in the closing stages and was a length-and-a-half in front of her aforementioned rival at the line.

The runner-up was returned at 16/1 under Cian Cullinan for Paul Fahey, while Wudya was all of 30-lengths back in third.

Just eight of the 15 starters managed to complete the course, with Hashtag Be Kind (6/4f) pulled up quickly after jumping the first.

"She really deserved that. She has been second five times over hurdles," Harvey commented.

"It's great for the owners who are great supporters of the yard. They have plenty of horses with us so it's always great to get them a winner.

"She did it well, it was her first run in a while. She should improve for it and I think she will be better over fences. She is a two-and-a-half miler and travelled a bit fresh today. In time she might get further, especially over fences."
