Jumbo another for Mags, Danny & Barry After winning a maiden hurdle yesterday with Anonis, the mother and son combination of Mags and Danny Mullins, along with owner Barry Connell, returned to the winners enclosure this afternoon as they took the Paddy Power Maiden Hurdle with Mumbo Jumbo. The 5yo son of Vinnie Roe was sent off the 4/6 favourite for the 2m contest after he was just beaten on his hurdling debut at Listowel in September by Ted Veale. After leading for much of the race he was headed before the second last by Celtic Cailin. He still travelled well entering the straight and despite making a slight mistake at the last he kept on well on the run-in when ridden and got up to win by a length and a half. The Jessica Harrington trained Celtic Cailin had to settle for second yet again under Andrew Leigh at 3/1 while Raise The Beat was a further fifteen lengths back in third under Robbie Power for Colm Murphy at 14/1. Mag Mullins said afterwards: "He was just beaten in Listowel and Barry (winning owner Barry Connell) wanted to come back here with him. He is a nice horse and it has worked out well. We will find a winners of one for him now." Martin Mooney was given a two day ban for using his whip when his chance of winning or being placed had gone on ninth-placed Dutsdale Dawn.
