Long Journey Home recorded his third career win, and in the process ended a frustrating gap stretching back nearly two years, with a smooth success in the William Fry Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown.
The seven-year-old gelding was produced full of running in the straight by Connor King, and quickly settled the issue when sent on just inside the final furlong.
The 7/1 chance stayed on well to beat 11/4 favourite Stronger Than Me by three and a quarter lengths, with Ruler Of France a further two and a half lengths adrift in third.
Winning trainer Danny O'Sullivan said, "Connor gave him a good ride. He's been dropped a few pounds and deserved it. He's been getting plenty of prize-money but just not getting his head in front.
"He might go next for the Cork Derby (worth 50,000 euro on June 14)."
