Sheer Chance (12/1) completed a double for Joseph O'Brien at Dundalk today, leading home a 1-2 for the trainer in the Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Maiden.

Ridden by Alan Persse, the daughter of Fulbright led in the final strides to defeat stablemate Bold Ribb by a head, with third-placed Soilse a further neck away.

Regarding the 69-rated winner, assistant trainer Brendan Powell said “it’s nice to get a winning bracket with her as they are owner breeders and will breed from her.

“She was rated 82 last year and then lost her way. He’s brought her back fresh, Alan has taken 7lb off and given her a great ride. It’s nice to see him riding a winner for Joseph.

“This filly has got her maiden now and knowing Max (Morris, owner/breeder) she will probably be off to stud in the new year.”

Trainer O'Brien was earlier successful with newcomer Hogmanay under Dylan Browne McMonagle, in the juvenile maiden.
