Jackemil ploughs through mud to score Stamina proved the key in the opening sprint at Listowel this afternoon as Jackemil stayed on best in the testing conditions. John Joe Walsh's charge was turning out for the second time this week, having been third here on Monday. Front-runner Three Bells looked to have her field stretched early in the straight but couldn't hold the late surge of Jackemil. Ben Curtis got a good tune from the 3/1 joint favourite to claim his market rival just inside the final furlong. The Bachelor Duke filly kept on for a half-length verdict with the pair pulling eight lengths clear of the third-placed Fast On. “She loved the ground,” revealed Walsh afterwards. “She's not in training that long, only a couple of months, and she's come on with every run. Ben gave her a brilliant ride.” (On course reporting by Alan Magee)
