Intrepid Prince followed-up on his win at Galway on Friday, as he took the second divide of the Palmerstown House Estate Remembering Anne Brewster Handicap.

An easy winner off a mark of 55 at Ballybrit, the son of Royal Applause was given an 17 pound hike by the handicapper.

He carried just a five pound winners penalty today, and he was sent off the 8/11 favourite (briefly available at 2/1 last night) under Leigh Roche.

Settled in mid-division on the outer, he travelled strongly from the three furlong pole, and cruised to the front with a furlong left to race.

Three Star Lion stayed on well inside the final furlong, but Roche had things under control aboard the winner, as he went on to score by three parts of a length.

The aforementioned Three Star Lion had to settle for second under Danny Grant for Pat Flynn at 40/1, while Gossip Central (33/1) was a further two and a quarter lengths back in third under Seamie Heffernan for Arthur Moore.

O'Callaghan said afterwards: "I had to get him back out again under a 5lb penalty after he got 17lb (for winning at Galway last Friday).

"The 17lb will go a long way towards slowing him down. He travelled well into the race, and has been a revelation in headgear (visor)."
