Five horses were covered by no more than half a length jumping the final flight in the the first division of the visitwexford.ie Handicap Hurdle and it was Inthenickoftime (4/1) who came out on top in the dash to the line.

The Gleneagles gelding, trained by Enda Bolger, had shown improvement when fourth at Ballinrobe earlier in the month and responded well to Simon Torrens' urgings to master last-time-out course and distance winners Kate Ill Know and Johnny Clarke by half-a-length and a neck.

Frank Berry, racing manager of winning owner J P McManus, said "He is at his own level but he ran a nice race in Ballinrobe the last day, he stayed on. It's nice to come here and pick up a prize with him today. He toughed it out well, there was plenty of challengers down over the last. He was gutsy and hopefully he'll progress a bit.

"If we could get another one at this grade with him, it would be grand. He is a homebred and handles that ground well."
