Eric McNamara’s hot streak continued in the McMahon’s Munster Mile 8th October (QR) Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today as the trainer completed a double on the day and his fourth winner in a fortnight, with the J.P. McManus owned Irish Bulletin
The son Invincible Spirit was produced with impeccable timing by top amateur, but still claiming, Finny Maguire. The pair led on the inner jumping the last and in the end scored a neck winner over Sir Jack Yeats
McNamara, earlier successful with Italian Riveira, later commented “he lost his way on very heavy ground but has come back to himself on the bit of nicer ground.
“Hopefully he’ll win a chase before the summer ends and it’s always lovely to have a winner in those colours (J.P. McManus) - the horses are running well and some seem to want a bit of better ground.”
“Finny gave him an excellent ride and that’s his first ride for me - I was anxious to claim off him and arguably he is the best claimer.”
McNamara's fortnightly haul includes four winners and two seconds from just five horses to run for the Rathkeale, Co Limerick trainer.
