Imposing Supreme stayed on to oblige in the extended nine furlong Treacy's Pharmacies Handicap at Ballinrobe.
The 13/2 chance was niggled along in sixth by Gary Carroll racing to the final two furlongs but made good headway to strike the front approaching the straight.
The grey gelding gelding was ridden inside the final furlong and beat 11/4 favourite Talbot by a length and a half. Satono Chevalier (13/2) finished third, beaten three and a quarter lengths by the winner.
Trainer Tom Gibney said: “I had my doubts about him getting the trip to be honest. Kevin Haigney, who owns half of him with Leonard (Kinsella), was keen to come here and we got away with it. Kevin also owns Atavique so it’s been a great couple of days for him and the pair of them are two great owners to have.
“He gets up the hill in Galway so well and yet Gary got off him just now and said that we just about got away with that. He thinks he gets the mile and no further.
“We’ll probably head straight to Galway with him now. This is the first time he’s won anywhere other than there.”
