Seamie Heffernan completed a double at a wet and windy Dundalk as Jazzy Dancer justified 5/4 favouritism in division two of the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.

The Willie Martin-trained gelding, successful off a 10lb higher mark at Naas last year, was placed twice here last month and scored here in decisive fashion.

The five-year-old son of Red Jazz got well on top inside the final furlong and was just pushed out to beat Zig Zag Zyggy by two and a half lengths with Thirtysecondstreet a neck further back in third.

The winner was led up by Martin’s son and assistant trainer Mick and Heffernan said, "I've actually been riding horses for his father since I was 16 and Mick rode a winner for Jim Bolger years ago.

“He promised me a winner and he told me tonight that he had more ability than these and if he gets to make the running he should win. He kept going well. I really enjoy every winner.”

Heffernan was also on the mark earlier aboard Port Augusta.
