Seamie Heffernan recorded a quick double for Ballydoyle at Cork this afternoon when Credenza held on close home to land the spoils in the mile nursery. An Aingeal Dubh made the running and had the field on the stretch early in the straight.
Credenza chased down the front-runner a furlong-and-a-half from home but was strongly pressed by Facethepuckout in the closing stages.
That rival just failed by sjort-head to peg back the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly at the line.
7/2 shot Credenza had been third in her last two maiden starts, most recently behind stable-mate Frosty at Dundalk 12 days ago.
Heffernan said:- "She was a good ride in a nursery and I have her down as an 85 rated filly and she probably will be that after today.
“It worked out well and she is a filly that will go further next year like most Galileos. She is a Listed Stakes filly going 1m4f."
