Hayes completes 71/1 double aboard Queen's Pardon Queen's Pardon rounded off a good day at the Curragh for Chris Hayes when completing a double for the rider in the Live Music After Racing At McDonnells Bar Newbridge Handicap. Hayes earlier just got Lattam up on the line to land the featured €100,000 Paddy Power Irish Lincolnshire and he made it a 71/1 double in the six-furlong finale. Queen's Pardon, trained by the father and son team of Eddie and Patrick Harty, travelled well and kept on gamely inside the final furlong to beat Seeingisbelieving by half-a-length. Run Forrest Run came home strongly just a neck back in third with Mogwli completing the places in fourth. Patrick Harty said, “She was disappointing the second half of last season and the handicapper was very fair and gave her a chance. “Eddie had a share in her last year with a couple of guys and the plan was always to go to the sales. “We felt there was meat on the bone and there was definitely a win in her so we bought her back. We got a call from the Peateawhy Syndicate who bought her and it’s their first runner for us. “I thought she would love the ground and was well treated but I thought she would need the run so the plan was to run today and then go to Gowran in three weeks’ time for a seven-furlong handicap. “Chris is after getting off her now and said six or drop down to five would be better so plans are out the window.” Quotes by Gary Carson
