Jessica Harrington believes Galway Plate runner-up Burn And Turn holds strong claims in the Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate at the Cheltenham Festival.
Last seen when outclassed behind Don Cossack s he had nevertheless shown good form prior to that when winning at Limerick and when not beaten far by Sizing Europe at Gowran.
Now nine, it will be Burn And Turn's first trip outside Ireland. "She was second in the Galway Plate to Road To Riches which is quite good form," said Harrington.
"She has had a break since her last run in November and she is going to run in the two-mile-five-furlong handicap chase provided the ground is reasonably good.
"She always runs very well fresh and she's a good jumper, so I'd be happy she'll run a good race."
Harrington may also have Kabjoy for the Fred Winter. An impressive winner on her hurdling debut from the Grade One-placed Prussian Eagle at Navan, Harrington expects her to have benefited from a break
"She's won on the Flat and won first time out over hurdles. She had two more runs in Graded races and I'm hoping to run her in the Fred Winter," said Harrington.
"I don't know what handicap mark she'll have and it will be depending on what mark she has whether she runs.
"I'd like a bit of nice ground and she's had a good break from Christmas."
Harrington is also supplying Hurricane Ridge for Ladbrokes' Hayley O'Connor to ride in the charity race, with the trainer reporting he should have a good chance. Modem second to Katie T in the BoyleSports Hurdle, has been entered in the County Hurdle, but Harrington said: "I don't know if he'll get into it and he's running in a novice hurdle at Naas on Sunday.
"We'll see what happens."
