Harrington and Power Rock in a double Rock The World (13/8 favourite) strode to an impressive success on his debut over the larger obstacles, in the McHale Fusion 3 Plus Beginners Chase at Ballinrobe, to bring up a double for trainer Jessica Harrington and jockey Robbie Power (Phantom Prince landed the 7.30 for the pair). A Sizing Network was backed into 2/1 against Rock The World, but he got rid of Jonathan Burke as early as the second fence. He then caused carnage at the next when loose, forcing three of his rivals to unseat, a fence that also claimed Indian Icon. The Michael Buckley-owned Rock The World proceeded to make all and jump well. A brief threat from Ruby Walsh's mount, Abbey Lane, going to two out, was quickly extinguished, and Rock The World strode home by eighteen lengths. Power was understandably enthusiastic in the aftermath, saying: "I've been looking forward to that for a while. He started schooling over fences after Punchestown and I always thought the way he jumped a hurdle that he'd make a brilliant chaser. "He has been foot perfect schooling and he was again today. He was a little bit high early on but we won't complain about that. "He was very good and accurate over the last two. There is plenty to look forward to over the summer with him. He was having a good look at his fences, they ride very well here and it was a great education for him." (DM & EM)
