Hansupfordetroit rewarded his punters with an all-the-way success at Ballinrobe in the two and a half mile maiden hurdle.

The seven-year-old, in the tongue strap, made all under three-pound claimer Niki O’Shea and after being ridden along two out stayed on well to win by eight and a half lengths from Ancient Days

The winner opened at 9/2 and was backed down to 7/2 on the off while the runner-up was returned at 10/3.

There was a gap of 16 lengths between the second and third horse Girlie’sdream (33/1) trained by Fintan Feeney.

Aidan Anthony Howard trains Hansupfordetroit and he commented: “He’s a grand honest horse and he’ll go jumping (over fences).” Sir Harry Cash was sent off 6/4 favourite, but weakened from two out to finish seventh.
