After building up a sizeable lead, Grosvenor Square was reeled in by stablemate Tower of London in last month's Curragh Cup over 1m6f but nothing could get near the Galileo colt in the Comer Group Irish St. Leger Trial Stakes over the same course and distance.

Soon in front and clear of his four rivals at halfway, the 1/2 favourite turned for home with a lead of a dozen lengths and maintained the gallop to slam Courageous Strike by an eye-popping 20 lengths.

Paddy Power go 8/1, from 14s, about the winner for next month's St Leger and he was completing a treble for Moore, trainer Aidan O'Brien and the Coolmore partners after Treasure Isle and Continuous

“He has serious stamina when he gets into a rhythm. He's an exciting horse,” said O'Brien.

“It's a quandary whether you follow him or don't follow him.

“I said to Ryan 'was he finished at the line' and he said he wasn't, that he galloped through the line.

“It's very hard not to go to Doncaster, we'll see what the lads want to do but it's three-year-olds. He's so uncomplicated, you go out there and let him go.

“He handles soft ground as well.”
