Gorman lands double with another Rock Rigid Rock landed a double for Jim Gorman and owners Bill and Penny Foley when taking the second divison of the sprint handicap at Bellewstown. Declan McDonogh always had the gelding prominent on the outer in the five-furlong contest and hit the front with over a furlong to run. The 5/1 joint favourite kept on well in the closing stages to post a three-and-three-quarter-length victory over Eurosmart Lady. The winner had been supported on course from 6/1. The other market leader, Dixiedoodledandy, could only finish ninth. Gorman revealed afterwards that the plan was to stay wide in search of better ground:- "I really fancied him and told Declan to stay as wide as possible even if he had to jump a hurdle! "He's been in very good form and ran very well in Naas when it was too soft for him." Connections had also struck earlier with Liberty To Rock, ridden by Ronan Whelan, in the mile handicap.
