The Enda Bolger trained Gilgamboa enhanced his growing reputation when maintaining his unbeaten record over fences, when landing the featured Grade 2 Shannon Airport Novice Chase at Limerick today.

The son of Westerner had the measure of Adriana Des Mottes when that nearest rival fell at the final fence and at the line, coasted to a 24 lengths win.

Bolger later commented "that's a nice Christmas present! He's a very exciting and improving horse and jumping is his forte."

"It is nice to build on his win at Navan and he's getting very professional. He is very relaxed and settled and the Arkle Chase at Leopardstown could be next for him."

Winning jockey Mark Walsh was completing a double on the day while winning owner J.P. McManus was himself registering a third winner of the afternoon.
