Gallope showed the benefit of a promising debut to provide her trainer Prunella Dobbs with a welcome success in the corkracecourse.ie Median Auction Maiden.
The daughter of Lope de Vega was slowly away at Fairyhouse last month before putting in some eye-catching work in the straight to finish fourth.
Fran Berry was again in the saddle and, with Royal Ascot Trip setting a blistering pace to the straight in this extended mile event, Gallope struck the front over a furlong out.
The 3/1 chance and Multiculture came clear of the field, with a neck separating them at the line. Hushed Tones was over eight lengths back in third.
Mrs Dobbs said, "I've always liked this filly and considered her our best flat horse. It's wonderful for Charlie (O'Reilly, owner) as he picked her out at the sales himself and liked her pedigree.
"We'll take baby steps and see how she comes out of this. I don't think she wants soft ground but a little more give would help. We've had a bit of a drought (first winner in ten months) and hopefully it will now turn into a torrent!"
