The Gallinule Stakes looks the likely next target for the Donnacha O’Brien-trained Bremen as the well-bred colt bids to follow up a successful return at Cork last month.
The Galileo full brother to Warm Heart, a three-time winner at the highest level including the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp last autumn, appreciated the step up to ten furlongs when beating Stromberg by two lengths.
Bremen is one of seven entries for the Cashel Palace Hotel Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday, but O’Brien is favouring the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh on May 26.
“He had an entry at Chester but I think we’ll keep him for the Gallinule at the Curragh,” said O’Brien.
“He’s not in Epsom so he’s likely to stay in Ireland whatever he does and we may as well stay here for the Gallinule.
“He’s in good form. He’s not a big horse but seems to have improved from two to three.
“I think he’s a Stakes horse and we’ll find out a bit more on his next run.”
