Soul Murmur set a strong enough gallop and looked to have seen off all his rivals, but Rory Cleary got on terms on board the 8-1 winner with a furlong to run and the pair had too much for heir rival in the closing stages, winning by a length and three quarters.
Muredach Kelly's Kahuna (14-1) led his rivals a merry dance when making all to win the Guinness Sligo Handicap Hurdle by a yawning 12 lengths.
