French & British runners challenge for Curragh honours Dare To Dream will carry the hopes of France in the featured Staffordstown Stud Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon. Trained in Chantilly by Gavin Hernon, the daughter of Camelot was fourth in a Longchamp Group 3 last month and will face nine rivals including Gray’s Inn trained in Britain by Jack Channon. The home-trained challenge features impressive Leopardstown winner Kitty Rose, Royal Ascot heroine Snellen, Unreasonable trained by Joseph O’Brien and the Aidan O’Brien trained pair of Brilliant and Content. 14 fillies will line up in the Listed Darley Brigid’s Pastures Stakes including recent winners Dagoda, Expressova, Hazalaya and Special Wan, while British-based trainer William Haggas will be represented by the progressive Pinafore. 17 runners have been declared for the competitive Glenroyal Hotel Lady Riders Trophy including Let Her Loose trained in Britain by Archie Watson. 19 of the top apprentice jockeys will compete in the Derek O’Sullivan RACE 50th Anniversary Handicap, while there are 22 in the QuinnBet Handicap, 11 runners in the Stephen Quirke Memorial Handicap and 14 in the Irish EBF Maiden, while 16 go to post in the opening Shoda Market Café Maiden. The annual exhibition ride by eight members of the Irish Pony Club will take place after the last race.
