Cheltenham festival placed Freedom To Dream will carry the main hopes of the Peter Fahey yard when he reappears at Punchestown later this month. The gelding acquitted himself well on his first foray into handicap company when fourth behind Banbridge in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle.
Prior to that, the son of Secret Singer had been second in a Grade 2 hurdle and fourth at the highest level. Dropping down in class for the Red Mills Final, he would appear to hold strong claims in a race that will be run to suit. Fahey was confident he can make his presence felt.
"He has been in good form since Cheltenham. The ground is always well watered at Punchestown, so should be fine for him."
Battling Bessie, last seen when just collared at Leopardstown in February, is another likely runner, although as of yet, he target has yet to be confirmed. "Battling Bessie will go for one of the bumpers but whether it's the Grade 1 or the Fillies race I don't know yet," Fahey added. The form of her recent second has worked out exceptionally well, with fourth placed Ashroe Diamond bolting up at Aintree.
Fahey also had news of Imperial Cup winner, Suprise Package. "He is going to get a break now and come back next season to go chasing."
