Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning gained some compensation after being narrowly defeated in the first race when Free Judgement landed the Dylan Thomas EBF Group 3 Tetrach Stakes.
Manning sent the son of Vindication to the front over a furlong and a half out and kept on well close home to hold off the fast finishing Dynasty by a short head.
Winning trainer Bolger said afterwards: "He'd want the ground better than it is today, it's nearly soft out there."
"Hopefully he'll comeback and take his chance in the Irish 2000 Guineas where hopefully we'll have nicer ground."
