Stable first choice rider, Shane Jackson is in Australia with the Irish Jumps Jockey Team and Eoin McCarthy gained his third win for the Philip Rothwell yard since Sunday, and his second on the same horse, as Jamies Choice followed up Monday night's Ballinrobe success in the Star Sunday Amen Magazine Handicap Chase.
Carrying a mandatory six pound penalty for that recent victory, it was more of the same from Jamies Choice in his blinkers (second time wearing them) as the former promising pointer made all to beat his stable companion, Rosoff by four lengths. The winner was backed from a morning price of 4/1 into 9/4 joint favourite, a market position he shared with the eventual third, Clear Gold
This was Rothwell's fourth winner this week. Gamble of the contest, The Man Himself (11/2 into 7/2) pulled up. (EM)
