Tony McCoy was hit with a four day suspension for excessive use of the whip after partnering Prince Of Pirates to dead-heat with the Richard Johnson-ridden Brackloon High at Leicester this afternoon.

McCoy got the Nicky Henderson-trained 9/4 favourite Prince Of Pirates up in the last stride to earn a share of the spoils in a pulsating finish to the Cavalry Novices' Limited Handicap Chase .

However the efforts of the champion jockey saw him banned for four days (March 1-4). It was his second offence at the lower level of punishments, so the normal two day suspension was doubled to four.
