Fortunes looks smart in Wexford bumper World Of Fortunes powered clear in the closing stages to run out an impressive winner of the concluding mares bumper at Wexford this afternoon. The Liam Kenny-trained mare had been denied by the narrowest of margins at Tipperary on her debut last month and went to post a 6/1 shot today. James Kenny, son of the trainer, sat behind the leaders, on the daughter of Soldier Of Fortune, before improving to dispute with half a mile to run. She was sent for home turning in and opened up passing the furlong pole, going on to post a six-and-a-half length win over Familiar Dreams. The winning rider said afterwards:- "She is a lovely filly. We gave her a run in Tipperary where she was very unlucky. She was only beaten by a nose by one of Willie Mullins'. “She seems to have improved a massive amount at home from that first run and she brought her homework to the track today. "She is an exciting filly going forward. I think the owners are going to keep her. She is in a while now and probably deserves a little break before going over hurdles." (Quotes by Donal Murphy)
