Talented apprentice Shane Foley returns from injury at Dundalk this evening after over two months on the sidelines following a nasty incident at Bellewstown on August 25.
Foley, known affectionately as “Dusty” by his weighing room colleagues, was unseated from the Frank Ennis-trained French Express as the horses circled behind the stalls before the Lougher Stakes Handicap at Bellewstown.
After the three-year-old filly had reared up, she proceeded to stand on the jockey, and he suffered a fractured ankle and collarbone.
Foley, second to Gary Carroll in the apprentice championship last year with 32 winners, has three rides on the polytrack this evening including Jessica Harrington's Bob Le Beau in the Listed Carlingford Stakes.
