Trainer Ado McGuinness has started the New Year in winning form by saddling a double at Wolverhampton in recent days.
McGuinness who trains close to Lusk in north County Dublin sent three horses to the Dunstall Park venue this week and was successful with both Pivot Bridge and Oor Jock.
The two winners carry the familiar pale blue silks of loyal owner Dan Daly. Daly must have been particularly pleased to see the horses win on successive days as both horses have gone through barren spells.
Pivot Bridge which hacked up in a 1m6f Handicap yesterday was without a win since March 2015 while Oor Jock has been frustrating to follow. Since his last victory in August 2014 he has been placed on no less than 18 occasions without getting his head in front.
That all changed on Wednesday when the 9-y-o took advantage of a sliding rating to win a shade comfortably.
McGuinness obviously has his horses in great order and it would be prudent advice to give his runners a second look over the coming weeks. He runs four horses at Dundalk this evening including regular all-weather scorers Black Label and Specific Gravity which both contest the Cross Square Hotel, Crossmaglen Handicap at 7.00pm.
