Flanagan and de Bromhead double up Downmexicoway Henry de Bromhead and Sean Flanagan doubled up at Down Royal with Downmexicoway in the auction maiden hurdle. The 2/7 favourite made all and stretched away after two out to score by an emphatic 10 lengths. Scalpnagoon (7/1) was a remote second and was 25 lengths clear of Our Soldier (8/1). Flanagan said: "He was very, very professional. "He has obviously had the runs in point-to-points and he knew his job. "There was no pace and he has won over three (miles), so I popped out and he has jumped from hurdle to hurdle and I built into it well. He has finished off really strong. "The contest of the race probably not much, but he couldn't have won any easier than he did." Flanagan and de Bromhead also landed the opener with Air Of Entitlement (5/2f). Paddy Power cut Downmexicoway from 66/1 to 40/1 for the Albert Bartlett.
