Flame Bearer impresses in Limerick bumper The 6/5 favourite Flame Bearer was most impressive when winning the Adare (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race for trainer Pat Doyle. A five length winner at Thurles on his previous outing just before Christmas, he tracked the leaders and was travelling all over his rivals in the home straight. In the end he had three and a half lengths to spare over Teescomponentsyess (16/1) with a further five and a half lengths back to Anglers Crag (5/1) in third. Second in his only start in point-to-points last March, the Fame And Glory 6-year-old has a bright future on this evidence. Winning rider Pa King is enjoying a good season and he remarked of his ninth winner of the campaign: “He was maybe more in my hands than I would have liked the whole way but he is a very good horse. "I knew in the straight that I didn't have to be in any rush with him and being a good horse, he'll go on any ground." Quotes from Thomas Weekes
