Barry Fitzgerald is firming up plans for A Piece Of Heaven's trip to Royal Ascot.

The six-year-old stayer was the comfortable winner of three of his last four races in Gowran Park, Dundalk and Leopardstown which has seen his mark rise to 101.

The trainer said: "We have cut down to two (Royal Ascot options) now - more than likely we are going to go for the 1m6f (Copper Horse Stakes) on Tuesday instead of the 2m5f.

"It is an exciting time and I'm very happy with where he is at the moment. He is working well again at home, he worked very well on Thursday morning.

"He will handle the ground over there and hopefully it won't rain."
