Rebel Ivy (11/1 - 17/2) registered a first success today at Limerick, landing the Mr Binman Mares Handicap Hurdle for trainer James Motherway and jockey Donie McInerney.

The daughter of Fame And Glory had been placed in two of her last three starts and today survived a final flight blunder when easily beating runner-up Optional Mix by 13 lengths.

Afterwards Irish Grand National-winning trainer Motherway reported “it was pretty straightforward and the ground wasn't soft enough for her the last day. She wants proper soft ground and I thought the ground today would be a massive help and I told Donie to keep it simple and follow the leaders.

“She is a nice filly, we own her ourselves and if we could nick a bit of black-type down the line it would be great. She is nicely bred and will jump a fence as well.”
