First fences win for The Friday Man The Friday Man (4/1) registered a fifth career success at Tramore today, as the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding landed the dramatic Tramore Racecourse Directors Beginners Chase under champion jockey Jack Kennedy. Rated 111, The Friday Man carried recent form-figures of 'P8PP' into today's race and while he inherited the lead through the fall of 9/4 favourite Iris Emery at the second-last, was travelling well at that point and scored comfortably from staying-on Shajak. Kennedy commented “we were riding him to finish out his race because he hadn’t been doing so, but it all fell into place for him. He jumped fairly carefully early-on but warmed into it nicely. “We were helped with the faller (Iris Emery) at the second-last but I felt like I had her covered.” Quotes from Donal Murphy
