County Tipperary owner/trainer Jimmy Finn had his first winner since Lleyton triumphed over hurdles in October when the same horse captured the Limerick Racecourse Family Fun Day 7th July Handicap.
This two mile one furlong stamina test saw Killian Leonard give Lleyton a patient steer after the Kalanisi gelding dwelt at the stalls.
The seven-year-old eventually hit the front over a furlong out, going on to account for Venezia by four and three parts of a length.
"He ran a good race over hurdles at Tramore but we ran him back quickly (at Kilbeggan) and didn't get the run of the race and the ground went soft and it didn't suit," reasoned Finn.
He added: "Seamie (Heffernan) said he'd be suited by good ground and to step him up in trip, so I'll thank Seamie for his good advice. He'll go back over hurdles now or else we'll look for another one of those staying Flat races."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Teologia trained by J. S. Bolger was found to be in season post race.
