Fever swoops to spring 80/1 surprise Latin Fever swooped inside the final furlong to spring an 80/1 shock in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown. The Kevin Coleman-trained filly was drawn out in 19 on her debut and had to come wide in the seven-furlong contest. Mikey Sheehy produced the daughter of Equiano with a strong surge to lead in the final 100 yards and record a neck victory over Aleramo. Part owner Adam Potts said:- “Everything went wrong, she had to overcome a bad draw and being kept on the wing the whole way and then she got a bump turning in. “I think class got her through. She's a half-sister to a Group 3 winner (Markaz Paname) and the dam hasn't missed. “She was a gorgeous looking filly so we thought we'd chance her.” Bloodstock agent Potts owns the winner along with breeze-up consignor Danny O'Donovan and Brian Sheerin, Sales Editor of TDN Europe.
