Feddans gained a deserved victory over timer when landing the odds in the opening mares maiden hurdle at Clonmel this afternoon.
The John O'Callaghan-trained daughter of Dansant had been placed on her last couple of starts over hurdles and went to post an 8/11 shot to make the breakthrough today.
Conor Maxwell let her hit the front after the first flight and she made the best of her way home from there.
After jumping right two from home she was asked for an effort and had the measure of Roccos Inspiration going to the last and she recorded a four-and-a-quarter length win.
The winner had also won a bumper at Punchestown back in January 2021.
"I was nearly going to take a lead going to the first but she winged it and landed in front and lobbed away,” said Maxwell.
“If anything she wasn't doing a stroke in front and I was always happy. I was able to fill her up everywhere and always felt I would stay in front.
"Her form has been franked and she has improved since her last run. She is settling a lot better and John rides her out at home on his own. When she gets racing she gets a bit excited and she had been over-racing a little bit.
"She is settling now and doing things better. She will be a nice mare for jumping fences and will stay further in time."
