Kevin O'Brien is of course originally from Co. Kilkenny and would have classed Tramore as one of his local tracks and his horse, Fingers also loves the South East air as the chestnut won his point-to-point at the nearby Milltown and he added to a maiden hurdle win at this course back in September when landing the Waterford & Tramore Directors (Ladies) Maiden.
For Aisling O'Brien (22), daughter of the winning trainer, this was a second winner on the track. She said: "I was very nervous before the race but I was hoping he'd go well. I feel like I'm having my first ride every time because there are such long gaps between them."
Meanwhile Kevin said: "He'll probably go back over hurdles, he won a maiden hurdle here last September. He is a real summer horse."
For Co. Laois-based O'Brien, this two length winner was coming hot on the heels of his Wexford winner from just over a week back, On Borrowed Wings. Fingers beat the well-backed 6/5 favourite, Alpine Glade but he didn't go without support either, the 8/1 chance finding friends at as high as 14/1 this morning.
