Le Vagabond defied top weight of 10 stone in Killarney's mile and three handicap when staying on stoutly to score.
Kieren Fallon conjured a finish from the four-year-old gelding who closed on Daredevil Day approaching the final furlong and was ridden to lead well inside the final furlong to win by two lengths at 6/1. Alamgiyr (12/1) came through for second, a couple of lengths back. Daredevil Day was a short head behind in third at 8/1.
"I thought he was in super form but didn't know what to expect (first flat run in Ireland)," Edward O'Grady said.
"He learned to settle too well over hurdles and the return to flat racing was a bit of a shock to the system. I'll look for another little flat handicap again next but he is ground dependant and likes top of the ground."
"That's Kieren's (Fallon) first winner for me."
