Exogenesis takes the Tyros for Lyons Exogenesis made a successful transition to Group company, as he took the Group 3 Korean Racing Authority Tyros Stakes in good style under Gary Carroll for trainer Ger Lyons. The bay son of Dark Angel won his maiden at Fairyhouse in June and followed up by scoring at Leopardstown earlier this month. Back over the course and distance again this evening, he raced in second for most of the contest, coming with his challenge inside the final furlong and getting on top close home to score by half a length. Home School (10/1 to 8/1 on-course) attempted to make all under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger, but he found just the winner too good, and he had to settle for the runner-up spot. Sir John Hawkins was sent off the 11/10 favourite for Aidan & Joseph O’Brien, but he could only manage third, a length and a quarter back. The winner opened at 5/2 last night with Paddy Power, he was available at just 2/1 this morning before opening on-course at 6/4, going off at 11/8. Ger Lyons said afterwards: "He is what I thought he was and he is going the right way. "It’s not often that we refuse good money for a horse and we were offered very good money for him the last day but we said no. "I said to Sean (winning owner Sean Jones) if we are going where we want to go, we need to be brave with some of these horses. "He is in the Group 2 at Doncaster (the Champagne Stakes). I wouldn’t go shorter than seven furlongs with him. We’re in no rush with him and we won’t over do it. "Every day he runs he gets mentally better and I think he will be a nice three-year-old. “Gary said to me when he came in, the better the race, the better the horse.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
