Alberta made a winning debut for Gordon Elliott at Downpatrick today, easily winning the concluding Posh Nosh Bumper to complete a double for the Grand National winning trainer.
The Flat bred son of Choisir finished second on his debut for Turlough O'Connor in December but today raced in the colours of new owners Cullentra Racing Syndicate.
Ridden today by Nina Carberry, Alberta moved to the front in the dip and in the end ran on strongly to prove eight and a half lengths too strong for the Willie Mullins trained newcomer Hot On Her Heels
Elliott had earlier trained Akorakor to win the opening maiden hurdle with Alberta proving his 80th Irish winner of the season.
