"It's a joy to be working for such a man. He's come a long way in a short space of time," said Jamie Codd after bringing up a 41,277/1 six-timer for Gordon Elliott by riding Three Swallowsnick to victory in the concluding Listed Coolmore N.H. Sires E.B.F. Mares I.N.H. Flat Race at Navan.
"They're a young team and they're just going forward. Ten years ago in a point-to-point in Kirkistown I think I rode my first winner for him," further reflected Codd after his three length win on 13/8 second favourite Three Swallowsnick.
"I've been with him that long and I have to thank him for putting up with me that long!
"His mind never stops thinking — he's just a very very good trainer and he's got the fire-power there now to really push on.
"This filly was just a 600 Euro foal so she's been a real fairy-tale story."
Three Swallowsnick is now the winner of two point-to-points and two bumpers after she found the most down the inner in the final furlong to beat market-leader, Glens Harmony and Sassy Diva
Three Swallowsnick is owned by Gigginstown House Stud, as are the earlier Elliott winners Death Duty Bull Ride and Empire Of Dirt (all ridden by Bryan Cooper). Brelade and Jury Duty (Jack Kennedy) were the other scorers for the Longwood trainer.
Elliott said: "Any day you have a winner is great but to have six on one card, I can't believe it. I had seven winners in a day before between Bellewstown and Perth.
"We'll enjoy it today. I have a great bunch of staff and good owners but I'll keep my feet on the ground and hopefully let the results do the talking.
"To win six races at my local track is brilliant, and they are good races as well.
"This mare is tough and stays well. She will probably go jumping now."
It is thought that Elliott's achievement — six winners on the one card in Ireland — is a record.
