Elliott bags a 'fiver' with Found A Fifty Gordon Elliott resumed winning ways at Down Royal today with Found A Fifty (8/13f) in the Eventco Marquees Ltd. Beginners Chase, registering a fifth winner from six races having been thwarted in the half-hour earlier race. Zefiro Dodville, Hunting Brook, Brighterdaysahead and Irish Point won today's opening races for Elliott and while he ran three horses in the 2.37pm handicap chase, fared best with third-placed Irish Blaze. The Gold Cup and Grand National-winner quickly resumed winning ways with Found A Fifty, which, on chase debut, was one of nine runners tasked with jumping just seven of the intended 13 fences, due to the low sun. Making all and jumping well, the son of Solskjaer swept aside Colonel Mustard in the final quarter-mile to complete a four-timer for Elliott's stable jockey Jack Kennedy, who missed Zefiro Dodville. Following Found A Fifty's success, Elliott stated “he's a good horse. He got very revved up last year and just blew his top, but Jack was delighted with the way he settled there. He is more settled this year than last year. "I liked his jumping and the way he quickened down the straight. "He's in the Drinmore, but we'll see where we go." Quotes from Michael Graham
