Following on from Pencilfulloflead Fury Road and Abacadabras Hollow Games put himself on the Gordon Elliott role of honour on the day at Punchestown, completing the Cullentra House four-timer in the Love Food At Rathsallagh Golf Club (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Jamie Codd, in action at the point-to-point in Tinahely earlier, came on to the County Kildare venue to partner Hollow Games for owners Noel and Valerie Moran.
The Beat Hollow youngster won his ‘point’ for the Baltimore Stables Syndicate, and handlers Mary Doyle and her brother James.
Having joined current connections for 255K, Hollow Games here, at odds of 4/7, was never too far away before striking on from over a furlong out.
He kept on strongly and went clear inside the last to easily defeat The Banger Doyle by seven lengths.
“Our better winter horses are starting to come out. We have a few really nice bumper horses but this lad is right up there. He’s very, very good,” said Codd.
“He’s a real winter horse. He won a point-to-point impressively and is a really exciting horse for Noel and Valerie (Moran). He’s 16.3 and I’d say he’s very good.”
There was a 20/1 introduction with Paddy Power and Betfair for Hollow Games into the Cheltenham Bumper market.
