Osco Mosco was the second horse at Wexford today to gain a maiden success having finished second in her previous three races, when landing the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Bumper for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Jamie Codd. Milestone Prince earlier out an end to his own ‘222’ streak in the handicap hurdle, and Osco Mosco today benefited from a strong drive from Champion Amateur Jockey Codd as the pair beat Lucca Lady
Afterwards Ian ‘Busty’ Amond, assistant to Elliott, stated “she deserved that after a few good runs and she is tough and stays going.
“She was probably entitled to win on her previous runs. She battles well, and will pay her way for the summer. She will go over hurdles now, she takes her runs well and hopefully she will pick up a hurdle before the summer is out."
