"We have been excited about her for a while," revealed Stuart Crawford after the Simon Munir and Isaac Souede-owned Mongibello collected in the concluding event at Down Royal, the Metcollect Metal Recycling (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Stephen Connor was aboard the Authorized grey and he guided her to a thirteen length win from Sporting Glory She'd taken over going easily in the final quarter mile and the result was soon beyond doubt.
"She was very good back in the springtime in a real nice run in a point-to-point," further reflected Crawford.
"She improved a lot for the summer and it has done her the world of good.
"The plan will be to go to Leopardstown (Grade 2 mares' bumper, Dublin Racing Festival) with her. We won that race with Lily Du Berlais and we will target there. She'll go back into mares' company and we will try and have a tilt at that.
"Whether we came here or just went straight there, look it is good to get another run under her belt and a win.
"She took on geldings there today and her mares' allowance was a help, and then Stephen's claim. I thought we could be well treated in against geldings.
"It was a big call going for that sort of race (Listed mares' bumper in Navan), but she likes those big wintertime tracks.
"It (today) was run at a very strong gallop and did it fall away a wee bit in front? A first-timer was second and a horse with other good form was third. It has a nice enough look to it."
The Raceday Stewards informed H. Smyth, trainer, of Just Me, that a repeat performance of his charges behaviour at the start of this race may render the animal to suspension in future.
