Well-related point-to-point and bumper scorer Measureofmydreams (2/9) justified his short odds in the second at Wexford, the Slaney Maiden Hurdle, to bring up a double for Willie Mullins, Ruby Walsh and Gigginstown House Stud. Aminabad was a pretty comfortable winner of the first for the trio, despite proving easy in the market.
Hurdling debutant Measureofmydreams had to work a bit harder as I Knew Well put it up to him from the front.
However that one guessed two out and Measureofmydreams was getting to grips with the pace-setter when he stumbled after the last.
Measureofmydreams himself wasn't fluent at that final flight either but he was soon in control and Walsh drove him out for a six and a half length win.
"He did it well but he is not a Wexford horse. He is more of a Navan or Naas horse, a big galloping track horse.
"Wexford is just tight enough for him and while he missed the last he picked up well," explained Walsh.
The Stewards fined Patrick Cody, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Better Again in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
