Dragon Fei was another winner for the layers at the Curragh as she took the TRM Celebrating 25 Years In Equine Nutrition EBF Fillies Handicap under Leigh Roche for Dermot McLoughlin.
Having finished third and second in 47 to 65 rated handicaps on her last two outings, she was sent off a 12/1 shot in this better class contest.
After disputing the lead in the early stages the four-year-old daughter of Jeremy was settled in second before hitting the front two furlongs from home.
She kept on well under pressure inside the final furlong going on to score by a length and three parts at the line. Sretaw finished second at 8/1 under Declan McDonogh for Gavin Cromwell, while the well-backed Madam Mo (14/1 last night and from 7’s to 5’s on-course) was a further three lengths back in third under Sean Corby for Patrick Prendergast. Abby Cadabby who was bidding her fourth win in-a-row, was sent off the 3/1 favourite under Connor King for Andrew Oliver but she could only manage a disappointing fourth.
Dermot McLoughlin said afterwards: "She was unlucky last week when she got into a bit of trouble in the apprentice race.
"She has a grand temperament and she loves the ground. I think that is my first winner at the Curragh."
