Double for team Mullins as Reine takes the last The Supreme Horse Racing Club owned, 4/7 favourite Reine Angevine took the bumper at Killarney this evening providing a double for Willie and Patrick Mullins who had earlier scored with Primroseandblue. The French bred daughter Poliglote finished third on her debut at Roscommon just under three lengths behind Gallant Tipp. After tracking the leaders for much of the race she was pushed along in third three furlongs from home. She responded well to pressure and hit the front a furlong out before keeping on well inside the final furlong to score by three lengths. Honey Pound finished best of the rest in second at 25/1 for Austin Leahy and Gerry Mangan while Balgnon Boy was a further half a length back in third under Mikey Fogarty for Thomas Gibney at 13/2. Winning rider Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "It was probably my fault she was beaten at Roscommon. I kept on the worst of the ground there. "She will get a trip over hurdles as she keeps galloping. "She needs to learn how to settle but when she does she'll be a right mare over 2m 4f to 2m 6f. "My biggest problem was to avoid Derek O'Connor at the start (his mount Hawaii Five Nil acted up at the start and soon unseated O'Connor after they were sent off)." (On-course reporting by Alan Magee)
